Wishbone Ash| were formed in 1969, when bass guitarist Martin Turner and drummer Steve Upton advertised for a lead guitarist to round out their group.  Unable to decide between competing candidates, Andy Powell| and Ted Turner, both men were invited to join the as yet unnamed band.  They would soon come to be regarded as pioneers of the harmony twin lead guitar format.

Following a stint as support act for rock legends Deep Purple, Wishbone Ash made their recording debut in 1970 with the eponymous album, Wishbone Ash.  Further albums followed annually throughout the ‘70s with their third release, Argus, reaching #3 in the UK album chart in 1972.  A commercial success, Argus is now considered one of rock’s classic recordings.

As with other progressive rock acts of the time, Wishbone Ash toured extensively when not recording, a schedule which led to many changes in line-up over the years until by the early ‘90s, Andy Powell| was the only original member of the group left.   Always a contributor to the band’s songwriting credits, over time Powell became Wishbone Ash’s main composer and in 1995, he restructured the band’s set-up so that future members were more or less hired on a session basis.

Forty years on, Wishbone Ash continue to record new albums and tour the world.

The Kassner group’s association with Andy Powell| and Wishbone Ash began in 2001 and to date, we control the publishing on three of the band’s albums, the 2002 release Bona Fide, 2006’s Clan Destiny and 2007’s The Power of Eternity.
