BIXIO GROUP EXTENDS SUB-PUBLISHING AGREEMENT WITH KASSNER GROUP

The Kassner Music Group today confirmed that it has extended its twenty year relationship with the Bixio Music Group|, one of the leading Italian independent music publishers, for a further five years.
Under the renewal agreement, the Kassner Music Group will continue to represent the Italian publisher’s copyrights across the UK, Eire, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand and major Eastern European territories, as well as acquiring rights to sub-publish the catalogue in the Russian Federation.
The catalogue of the Bixio Music Group| grew from the compositions of company founder Cesare Andrea Bixio. It is home to classics such as Mamma, Parlami d’Amore Mariu and Vivere as well as a large number of titles by internationally distinguished film composer Ennio Morricone and cult Italian rock band Goblin. Bixio songs have been immortalised over time by a wide variety of acclaimed artists, including the late Luciano Pavarotti.
In the last decade, the catalogue has become a firm favourite with Hollywood film-makers, with Bixio songs appearing in Goodfellas, Mickey Blue Eyes, Kill Bill Vol. 1, Shaun of the Dead and Death Proof amongst others. It has also been a source of samples for artists as diverse as RZA, G-Unit and Justice.
Kassner MD David Kassner commented: “The Bixio Music Group| is one of our most important clients. We have always enjoyed a great relationship with them and as fellow family businesses our companies share many important principles. We are proud to continue our association with them into a new decade.”
