CHERRY RED SIGNS RED BOX

Cherry Red Songs| are today delighted to announce that they have agreed a publishing deal with Simon Toulson-Clarke.
Toulson-Clarke was the frontman and main writer for Red Box, who enjoyed massive success in the 1980s with the tracks Lean On Me (Ah Li Ayo) (UK chart number three and number one hit in six countries around the world) and For America (UK chart number ten and a significant hit in several other territories).
The deal includes all of Toulson-Clarke's shares in the entire Red Box back catalogue, which includes their two studio albums The Circle And The Square (1986) and Motive (1990).
Red Box are readying themselves for a comeback later this year with a brand new studio album (to be released on the Cherry Red Records| label), Plenty. The album will represent the band's first set of new material in twenty years, with Cherry Red Songs| picking up the full publishing rights for both Toulson-Clarke and his suite of co-writers on the project.
Cherry Red Songs| publishing manager Matt Bristow stated "We are extremely pleased that Simon has chosen us to represent his publishing interests, not only in what is still an extremely active back catalogue with some timeless and incredibly popular songs, but also with the exciting new challenge of being involved with the first Red Box material for two decades."
Kassner Associated Publishers will represent the Toulson-Clarke catalogue worldwide through its administration deal with Cherry Red Songs|.
